Expert to Novice!

You've made a difference at the bedside - now you want to share that deep level of knowledge and experience with other nurses.

You've taken the leap and have become a clinical nurse educator!

I remember shifting into that role. What an exciting time!!
The amount of information I have gained in the last 8 years as a clinical nurse educator is invaluable!

I have been able to improve processes for nurses through professional development, workflow optimization and have coached nurses to tap into their personal best for the betterment of their patient outcomes.

I rejoice in the many rewarding experiences of being a nurse educator. For example, I will never forget one particular time that I was able to lead nurses through a challenging time in which change was at the helm of our success! It will forever warm my heart - the impact that nurses made to the overall mortality rates at one organization I worked at, fighting the war against sepsis. Through effective learning principles and structured information delivery, nurses at our organization were able to drive down mortality rates from 36% to 6% over the course of 3 years! AND achieve certification through an esteemed credentialing body for their best practices.  Driving change is one of the most difficult activities there is. Change in nursing practice is the hardest version of that.
It is up to Nurse Educators, Coaches and Mentors to motivate nurses to create positive change and improve patient outcomes.

By helping nurses improve their understanding of essential concepts, and giving them the tools and fundamental knowledge to assess and act fast - their new found potential for excellence results in rewarding experiences that can never be replaced by others.

Coaching and mentoring nurses to put forth their best is exceptionally inspiring, motivating and filled with hope and a continued vision for the future.
